"We were very impressed by the spotlessly clean, modern accommodation. A beautiful place to stay with wonderful views. Thank you."

Beth + Glyn very accommodating, when we needed somewhere to stay while having our property repaired. Just needed a home from home and that's what we got. Very comfy, clean, quiet (heaven). Would certainly recommend and hope to come back oursleves soon. Don't live far away so a bolt hole when you need a break from life.

Such a beautiful place, communication with Beth was excellent. Beth made us feel welcome.
A lovely touch leaving some milk and eggs.
Cleanliness of cottage was outstanding. Lovley fresh, clean beds.
We spent 3 days here whilst visiting Alton Towers twice. It was lovely to come back to the cottage. The two children absolutely loved it as well. The cottage is a breath of fresh air and I wish I could have stayed longer or maybe forever!!!
Once again Beth thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage, we loved it and hopefully one day we will be back. Many thanks

Fantastic location for what we wanted! Beth, you were great and we had everything catered for, brilliant job!! Would recommend who needs a stopover for Alton Towers or the surrounding area, particularly the Peak District. We loved it here and hope to be back soon. Zipwire was also a lot of fun this morning. Thank you

We booked to stay for 3 nights while visiting Alton Towers for 2 days. I wish we were staying longer to enjoy it more!
The cottage is beautiful and so cosy! Did not expect the lovely fresh milk + eggs or big soft towels! Everything we could've needed + more was here in the cottage for us! Beth + Glyn have both been so welcoming and friendly too!Such amazing hosts.
The girls absolutely loved the zipline, swing, slide + den! They are desperate to visit again for another shot and to see the cows!
Will be recommending to family + friends and hope to visit again soon! Thank you Beth and Glyn for sharing and letting us experience your lovely bit of paradise.

Booked so could meet local friends, which Dilhorne Royal Oak cater wonderfully to allergies.
We also planned some local days out, would recomment Peak Wildlife Park. Great location, lovely cows which enhanced our stay. Wonderful property, Chestnut, for disabled with wet room. Hope to return

Wow! A beautiful well equipped cottage. Beth very friendly and helpful, thought of everything. Staffordshire Moorlands is an undiscovered gem. Stunning, quiet countrysid but unpolit by loads of tourists. A very enjoyable break. Thank you.

We wanted to stay somewhere very quiet, away from the noise of New Year's Eve party goers and revellers. I chose Chestnut Cottage as it promised us peace and quite and I am pleased to say that it delivered!! It is a lovely tranquil place, pretty even in winter. Beth greeted us warmly onour arrival and helped us settle in. The cottage is fabulous - we have no comp[laints whatsoever! We hope to come back next New Year's Eve too. Thank you very much Beth.

Lovely peaceful time had, very quiet and dark at night. Walked quite a portion of the Cauldon Canal, very interesting. Consall Woods Nature Reserve, Deep Hayes Country Park, Ladderedge Country Parks all worth a visit, as is Froghall Wharf. Finished the week off walking part of the Manifold Way! Very Good.

There was a time when we left Summerhill to return home. Now we just leave one home to return to another and leave our second family to rejoin the first. We hope that the Plant family enjoys Monte C. as much as we enjoy Dilhorne. Thanks to the whole Plant family!! P.S. Maybe Glyn will get to bed on time now that we've left!
Joan & Stan, Georgetown, Canada May '14
We loved it here! Your hospitality was much appreciated and the information provided was very useful. The calm and peaceful surroundings were just what we needed and we enjoyed watching the calves playing across the way. Thank you for providing such a lovely place to stay. Thanks also for the eggs, bread and milk. We hope we'll be back one day.

Our third visit - won't be our last - says it all! Wedgwood Museum/Saxon Hoard (in City Museum) both fascinating & worth goint to. Thank you Beth and Glyn for a relaxing (too short) break.
Ann & Andrew, East Yorkshir July, 2013
The website should carry a warning, "visitors beware, Summerhill is addictive and the Plant family irresistably friendly" Nigh on impossible to stay away.
Joan and Stan, Ontario, Canada July 2013
Fantastic place to stay with all the comforts of home. Great location to explore this part of England. Very peaceful and lovely sunsets. Wonderful hosts, thanks for the milk, eggs, bread & flowers. Wish we could stay longer!

We've always appreciated Beth and Glyn's gift of making guests feel at home, but twelve inches of snow was priceless!!!! Thank you for everything, particularly the "dig out". See you in the summer
Joan and Stan, Ontario, Canada January 2013
A lovely few days here - only one thoroughly wet one and Dimmingsdale looked lovely in the damp with glimmers of sunlight and the Manifold Valley, beautiful with Autumn colours. A lone buzzard circled overhead. Off to the New Vic Theatre today to to see cousins.  Thank you for your warm cosy BeechCottage. We'll see you again soon.
Peter and Chris, Suffolk, October 2012
Two weeks is not enough. Next time we'll have to stay for a "real" holiday. Thanks to Ollie and Georgia for the lesson in poultry management.
Joan & Stan, Ontario, Canada, August, 2012
A home from home, but with a much better view! Comfort, pleasure and adventure, particularly the ride on Glyn's tractor. Sadness, the white cows calf! Summerhill has not seen the last of us. Merci.
